Sädesärla is a world fusion duo project presenting original compositions and arrangements of folk music from Sweden, Thailand, and beyond with Christopher Adler on khaen, the bamboo free-reed mouth organ from Laos and Northeast Thailand, and myself on violin, viola, and voice.
The project was initiated in 2017 when Chris reached out to me about joining him on some Scandinavian folk tunes for a faculty recital at The University of San Diego. Since that point, we’ve built a program of folk music and original works by Chris, with other musicians occasionally joining in.
